
A Theology of Femaleness
Speaking at a women's conference is an enormous privilege. It was extraordinary to be invited to share the stage at the Stronger event with women like Karen Smith, Becki Cox and Belinda Marsh, and to speak on the subject of a theology of femaleness. So, since I enjoyed it so much, and since I have previously shared here my companion talk on a theology of maleness, I thought I'd post the talk I gave, which is an extended answer to the question, "What does it mean to be a woman, as distinct from a man?" My answer ranges through Genesis 1-4 and looks at Dominion (woman as ruler), Difference (woman as helper), Deception (woman as sinner), and Destiny (woman as life-giver). I hope it's helpful:
